Mr. Shane was the stuntman that taught me all of the western style stunts that I do
as well as teaching me how to use the Bullwhip.
My Whip, as were his, were custom made by Alfonso Pidea. Mine was a 12' 8
plait Australian Kangaroo leather bull whip, that I still have to this day,
although I don't use it in shows anymore. We performed together
doing a "whip" fight in Las Vegas Nevada, and did shows at Circus Circus and the
Frontier Hotel. I worked with him on the Virginian,
doing utility stunts and doubling guest stars on the show.
When Dick played himself (Dick the Ranch hand) stuntman Gary Combs
doubled James Drury. Dick is still alive and well and living in Las Vegas,
Nevada where, at 74 years old, he is still active as a stunt consultant and
is the technical advisor of our show. I have never known such a versatile
performer as Mr. Shane or someone as knowledgeable as he is of all facets of the
movie industry. I am proud to call him my friend and honored that
he is the TA of our show.
